Hello! This is WE ARE THE FARM Meguro! Today, we'd like to share with you the scenes from this weekend's field day✨.
The weather was more pleasant than usual on this day. We helped with the planting of cauliflower. ☀️
Cauliflower is in season in winter, and is planted at this time of year.
Insects are the biggest enemy of vegetables at this time of year. Since we farm without pesticides, we use heat as a substitute for insecticides.
I cover the soil with plastic and make it high pitched inside, as shown in the second picture, to eliminate insects and weeds! ✨
Also, typhoons and torrential rains are likely to occur during this period, so it is important to protect the vegetables by firmly erecting support poles!
Then we reduce the water during the seedling stage to withstand water shortages and train them to cope with water shortages to the extreme before planting! 💪This process is the secret to the delicious taste of kale and other crops all year round 🌟.
