In the first half of August, we enjoyed the summer fields at the Meguro store!
Hello, this is WE ARE THE FARM Meguro! Today, we continue our field day from last week: ☀️
This field day we helped plant cauliflower and then toured the summer fields ✨.
The first is an okra field
Okra, which I also visited in late July, what the heck, it seemed to get taller in two weeks and I was able to see the growing power of vegetables with my own eyes 👀.
We were allowed to compare freshly harvested raw okra with different varieties 🥹 (my favorite was Okinawan island okra, which was particularly sweet ^ ^)
Second, molokheiya.
It is said that Cleopatra loved molokheiya, but in recent years, its cultivation has not been successful and it has become a phantom vegetable in stores.
Maybe there is a day when it is quietly offered 🤧.
We also saw the machinery used for planting that was introduced in the fields this year!
We have included a video of it in action, so please take a look!
Afterwards, we visited the current status of the tomato fields🍅 we helped with in May, as well as cucumbers and bitter melons, and served the harvested vegetables at the dinner that followed🍴.
It was a day when we felt that we were having a "valuable experience" to think that the vegetables we were involved in were actually delivered to the hands of people when the harvest season arrived!
This weekend is Field Day in late August!
We look forward to seeing you at our store♪
