I went to the field with the staff of the Meguro store!
Each of us had participated in a field day that included staff from other stores, but this was the first time in the spring that we had a field day only at the Meguro store.
Everyone was very much looking forward to it.
This time we assisted in the planting of kale. Kale seedlings are grown to their maximum size, starved, and planted in the field. By doing so, they will absorb more water and nutrients and grow bigger.
It took about an hour and a half, but it was hard work in the scorching heat.
Whenever I go to the fields, I always think about how valuable or grateful I am to those who work in the primary industry. I feel so grateful that I feel it's a shame that I don't have the words to describe it.
At the same time, I am happy to be able to touch the vegetables in the flesh, as I am usually in the store.
"Make the primary industry a job to be proud of in the world."
It is one of our most important mottos.
It was a day that made me feel grateful for the opportunity to be involved in everything from cultivation to sales, and to realize that I still need to work harder to deliver as much of my passion to our customers as possible.
The kale in the fall is what we were involved in 🥬.
I'm looking forward to fall now...
We look forward to serving you!
