Here is this week's lunch menu: 👨🌾
Good morning, sir.
Spring is usually characterized by a gradual warming of the weather with repeated returns of cold, as in "three cold and four warm days." This year, however, the weather is warming up all at once, so it is a mild spring, about "one cold and four warm days.
The spring shoots, which usually grow with some hesitation, seem to have shaken off.
The long-awaited rape blossoms have appeared.
Rape blossoms are actually "a general term for the flower buds of cruciferous vegetables,
The rape blossoms that are commonly sold are varieties developed specifically for this purpose,
We have a variety of cruciferous vegetables growing in our fields, so we offer a variety of rape blossoms depending on the time of year they appear.
Taassai, Tokyo Bekana, Spring Standing Rapeseed, Arachuda Kukitatsuna, Kale, Round Leaf Komatsuna, Norabona, Chirimen Fuyuna...
Each of these rape blossoms shows delicate differences.
The energy that has been slowly building up over the winter is concentrated all at once in the flower buds that will produce offspring.
It becomes umami, freshness, and makes us enjoy spring.
We plucked them one by one, feeling happy and a little apologetic.
I couldn't turn away from that sorry state of mind, so I would at least do my own seeding to keep the offspring alive,
In that sense, we also grow fixed seeds.
I would like to share the energy from the vegetables and continue to enjoy and work hard this week!
Best regards 🥬
