[Oura burdock root
Burdocks are said to be the most delicious in Japan✨.
It is thick, about 10 cm in diameter, and looks like a tube that has been stepped on and crushed!
The surface of the root is split as it enlarges, and the main feature of the root is that it is "hollow inside" 👀.
It is large and stocky, ranging from 60 cm to 1 m in length.
Since it has been dedicated to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple and served to worshippers as an item of vegetarian food, it is a rare burdock that is hard to find in the market.
Burdocks are generally thought of as fibrous, but Oura burdocks are soft and tender with a hokuhokku taste. ☺️
At the Akasaka branch, we serve it boiled and served as fritters.
